Fortunately, or unfortunately, you may find yourself in a situation where participation in a lawsuit is inevitable.  As the party bringing the lawsuit, the Plaintiff, you have to make the decision whether or not it will be worthwhile to bring a lawsuit against another individual or business.   In bringing a lawsuit as a Plaintiff, there are many issues to consider, both financial and non-financial.

In contrast, as the party sued in a lawsuit, the Defendant, you have involuntarily been placed in a situation where you are usually an unwilling participant in a lawsuit.  The last thing to do as a Defendant served with a lawsuit is to ignore it.  You have no choice but to defend yourself or your business.

We have handled matters representing both owners, contractors and subcontractors.  These matters have included both breach of contract and enforcement of mechanic lien issues.

We respect to consumer protection, we have successfully represented individuals who have been defrauded by unscrupulous home improvement contractors and have received awards of treble damages.  In one such case, we received a judgment of nearly $250,000 in favor of the home owner.  We have also represented clients who have been taken advantage of by temporary help and consulting agencies that were in violation of the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.  Additionally, we have represented individuals who were taken advantage of by automobile dealerships as well as representing individuals under the New Jersey Lemon Law.  Furthermore, we have successfully defended individuals who have been sued for credit card debt.  If you believe you were taken advantage of, or you did not receive what you contracted for, we can help.

• Employment Law

In the employment area, we have handled the negoiation of severence packages for employees who were terminated from their jobs.  Additionally, we successfully handled anNASD arbitration before a three-judge panel on behalf of a stockbroker who was terminated and not paid a bonus in excess of $100,000.
